My Philosophy
Therapy isn't about erasing all evidence of our struggles or past hurts - that's impossible. Some experiences shape a so deeply that we fear we couldn't possibly survive the pain of facing them. Yet, when we can safely process and integrate those experiences, we often emerge as more complex, rich and whole versions of ourselves than we could have imagined - forever changed, yet more fully alive.
I believe we all carry innate wisdom and a deep capacity for healing and growth. This capacity is nurtured through creative expression, safe connection, and inner alignment. As we become more connected and attuned within ourselves, we're better able to form meaningful relationships with others and experience more fulfilment in life.
Therapy offers a safe, supportive, and attuned relationship where you can explore, process, and integrate your experiences - fostering resilience, healing, and authentic growth.
Therapeutic Modalities
- Trauma-Informed Care — An approach that recognizes how past experiences can live in both the body and mind. I work to ensure the therapeutic space feels safe, empowering, and free from retraumatization at every stage of our work.
- Person-Centred Therapy — Grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to offer a warm, non-judgmental presence as you explore your experiences and move toward growth and healing.
- Sensorimotor-Informed Therapy — Draws on the connection between body and mind to support healing. This includes somatic awareness and practical tools for nervous system regulation, helping you reconnect with your body as a resource.
- Mindfulness-Based Approaches — Supports the development of present-moment awareness, emotional resilience, and a more compassionate relationship with your inner experience.
- Strengths-Based Therapy — Keeps the focus on your existing capacities, inner wisdom, and resources — recognizing what is already working as a foundation for growth.
- Cognitive and Behavioural Tools — Practical strategies to help identify and shift unhelpful patterns in thinking and behaviour, supporting meaningful and lasting change.

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that invites you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences through creative expression — alongside or instead of words. You don’t need any artistic skill or background; what matters is the process, not the product. While art therapy is a regular and meaningful part of my practice, making art in sessions is always optional — never a requirement. Talk therapy is always included.

When there's a crack in my mirror, I can't see myself as I am—all I see is the crack. The crack tells me that there is something wrong with me, that I'm not enough, and that this is how others see me, too. It's not a question of finding a better mirror. It's about seeing beyond the crack. I am not, nor ever will be, perfect. But I don't need to live for approval. I need to live for acceptance and joy in the unique, worthy, lovable, beautiful, sacred being that I am, and to celebrate that same thing in others. That's seeing beyond the crack. I'm learning to love my imperfections; in the end, they make me who I am, in all my flawed glory. ~ Richard Wagamese
